Our Rescue Dog, Blue Belle, was thrilled to see a gift box arrive at our door, especially for her. The delivery was a box from PawPack for our DogBlog review. I could tell by her keen interest in the box full of goodies that she was very delighted. Her first decision was chosen by her ever sensitive nose.  I thought she would want to go for the treats, but her nose sniffed out the squeeker in the squeeky toy – a fabric hotdog with a squeaker.  The box has quite a variety of treats, toys, and dog grooming supplies.

I tested out the pawpack.com website, it looks very user friendly.  The PawPack website says this about their mission to support rescue animals:

“ Our goal is to work with no-kill animal rescues across the country to help place cats and dogs into their forever homes.

10% of PawPack proceeds will go directly to the care of rescue animals. We also will be donating PawPacks directly to rescues for new adoptions to have as a welcome home gift. “

We are so happy to hear this. Blue Belle is a rescue animal.  She was rescued from a dog pound and would have been euthanized after being there for just 2 days.  She was rescued by a no-kill shelter that we adore,  the Animal Humane Association of Star Valley, known as Lucky’s Place.  After our dog, Maggie died, we search online through PetFinder and  found a dog that needed a home and we were so happy to give her a forever home with our family.

The PawPack website goes on to explain their Monthly  deliveries to your door – 1 month, 3 month, 6 month and 12 month plans  You can cancel anytime. They currently offer FREE shipping in the U.S.

Once you get to the website Choose your pet – Cat or Dog – Select the size of your pet – Select the type of subscription.

You will receive a monthly box full of surprise products, which will always be either organic, all-natural, or eco-friendly.  4 or more full sized items and a variety of samples and other goodies.

Subscriptions automatically renew. You may cancel anytime. Sounds like a fun way to try some new products without having to go to the store.

They say if your furkid has allergies they will try to accommodate – just send them an email with “special request” in the subject line.  That sounds like caring people to us.

The price is good.  At the time of this blog post the baseline package for a single pet is either $43/mo for the month to month option, $39/mo for the 3 month option, $37/mo when you sign up for the 6 months upfront, and $32/mo for the 12 month commitment. All packages including the month to month option are automatically billed each month but you can cancel anytime.  AND NOTICE THE SPECIAL DEAL MY DOGBLOG READERS CAN RECEIVE.  JUST USE THIS CODE DogBlog  TO RECEIVE $10 off on your first order.

Dog Treat REVIEW – Grain-Free Lamb with Cranberry

Blue Belle was excited to see a package arrive especially for her, a dog treat ready for testing.  Today she is testing a grain free treat which is a perfect treat size.  A bonus benefit is that it helps clean teeth and it is USDA-inspected.  This healthy treat is made with lamb, cranberries, apples, vegetables, and parsley.

Product sent to us from: Chewy.com

Dog treatsProduct name:  Fromm Four-Star Nutritionals Grain-Free Lamb with Cranberry Recipe Dog Treats

Ingredients: Fresh lamb, pea flour, potato flour, tapioca, whole peas, chicken fat, tomato pomace, fresh cranberries, sweet potatoes, carrots, apples, split peas, green beans, green bell peppers, celery, beets, parsley, lettuce, watercress, spinach

The first thing I look for is the ingredients and the country of origin.  YES! The package says “made in USA”.  This is so very important to us.  The price is very reasonable too.

We give Blue Belle the taste test with an added trick – place the treat on her nose with the command to wait.  Then we say “OK” and she snatches the treat.  We play this game with toys too and then she will toss the toy in the air.

The Fromm Four-Star Nutritionals Grain-Free Lamb with Cranberry Recipe Dog Treats was a great success.  It is the perfect size and Blue Belle really loves them.  Now when she is outside barking at the squirrel, I just say “come, Blue Belle, get a treat”.  Her ears perk up she runs right in.

We highly recommend this treat.  Visit the Chewy.com website for this product to read more reviews.

Pet Product Review – Blue Buffalo Wilderness Trail Treats

Blue Buffalo Review

Blue Belle Reviews Blue Buffalo Wilderness Trail Treats

Our new family member Blue Belle, the rescue dog, is happy to review her first pet product.  A package arrived from Chewy.com.  “How exciting a box just for me.  Let me get my paws at it! ”  In the box is a dog treat – Blue Buffalo Wilderness Trail Treats Chicken Jerky.

We have heard of Blue Buffalo dog and cat products, but never tried them.  Before making the decision to review this product for our precious pup, I wanted to make sure it was safe.  Upon investigation I was reassured to realize that Blue Buffalo is made in the USA.  Our beloved dog, Maggie, recently died from something she ate, so you can understand our concern.

Blue Belle absolutely loved these tasty treats.  Of course she did, she’s a dog! We loved the details and information about the Wilderness Trail Treats.  The treats are made with the finest natural ingredients.  According to Blue Buffalo, Wilderness Jerky is a wholesome treat that will help support your dog’s strength, health and vitality.  Again, something that this dog loving family is very concerned about.  We find ourselves reading all the details on the packages, to make sure our dog gets the best of everything. There are no by-products or artificial anything in Blue Buffalo Wilderness Trail Treats Chicken Jerky.

For those of you who need grain-free products, Blue Buffalo tells us that this is a perfect grain-free treat.  “High-quality poultry makes BLUE Wilderness Jerky the perfect treat for dogs who are fed a grain-free or raw diet.  It’s jerky with a wild side!”

The jerky is intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding only. Ingredients listed include chicken, dried cane molasses and salt. For maximum freshness Blue Buffalo instructs you to be sure to store BLUE Wilderness Jerky Treats in a cool, dry place.  To keep them as fresh as possible, they recommend refrigerating after opening.

Because the product is not cheap, it might be good to use some scissors to cut the jerky up into smaller pieces to make it last longer.  We think your dog would still be satisfied with a smaller piece.

We found this to be an excellent product and Blue Belle approved.

DogBlog Review – MrChewy

The Dog Blog canine contributor, Maggie, and her human blogger, Julie, were pleased to participate in a review of the web site Mr. Chewy.  Mr. Chewy was founded in 2011 and it appears to be doing a great online business.

We loved the humorous way that the web site is designed.  Free shipping on orders $49 makes it well worth the trip to the computer to place an order for your dog (or cat).

First step was to head on over to their web site mrchewy.com.  Step two was to register.  According to their web site creating an account is fast, easy, and free. You’ll be able to track your orders, create wish lists, write reviews, and more!

  • Track your orders
  • View your order history
  • Change your delivery schedules
  • Write reviews
  • Rate products
  • Get exclusive offers, discounts, and more!

And they were right.  It was very easy to create our account, our information was kept private.  So managing the account was a very good online experience.

If you have questions, they have a live chat.  I did have two occasions to use their live chat.  The first chat did take some time.  I assume they were very busy that day.

The only complaint I had was that one of the items listed on the web site indicated a price range starting at $5.99.  When I looked at the item – Redbarn Bully Sticks Dog Treats, the lower price of $5.99 was not one of the options.  I asked the customer support about this and was told they do not have that item available.  So my question – why have the $5.99 item listed if the price should actually range from $10.99? The customer support representative apologized sincerely for the misunderstanding and told me he will let management know of this and make sure it’s dealt with appropriately.

We placed our order and Mr. Chewy sent our order very quickly.  Maggie was very excited to see a big box of treats arrive at our door. The packaging was solid.  As you can see, Maggie the dog blogger thinks Mr. Chewy is one lip-smacking place for dogs and their blogs.
