Product: DOGSTERS Ice Cream Style Treats for Dogs
Dogsters Frozen Dog Treats
We received a request to review a treat for our dog, Blue Belle, DOGSTERS ice cream style treats for dogs. They are made in the USA (a key to this dog loving family) all natural, low fat and low calories. Dogsters says man’s best friend deserves healthy and delicious treats, too.
Who doesn’t love a good treat. BUT, the question on this beautiful fall day is will Blue Belle, the rescue dog, agree that a frozen treat is cool and refreshing and much better than staying under the tree to keep the pesky squirrels out of our yard.
The frozen treats are found in your grocery store alongside the frozen novelties. But because we are special (ok, we are just dog blogging reviewers, but we think we are special) we received ours at our front door packed on ice. We received two boxes of these delicious flavors:
Mint
Peanut Butter and Cheese
Each treat comes in a plastic container with a paper lid, so obviously you will want to keep an eye on your dog and throw the trash away, so they don’t eat up the container.
I think you will agree when you see Blue Belle’s reaction that she thinks they truly are DELICIOUS!
We were told to expect a box for our canine contributor, Blue Belle, to review. She was so excited. Oh my goodness. What an awesome box full of treats and toys.
PoochPerks is a monthly box subscription service for your four legged family members which include a unique collection of organic treats and interactive toys. Their treats are gluten free, have no artificial preservatives and are made with natural ingredients. Their toys are tested for durability and safety. They give preference to local batch gourmet and socially aware companies. (Blue Belle, Murry and Julie really like that fact).
Blue Belle absolutely loved the box full of treats and toys. One of her favorite toys is a little rubber toy from HuggleHounds. Stuffed Ruff-Tex is 100% natural rubber that is stuffed and extremely flexible. We use it to play a game with her. We put the toy on her head and tell her to wait and then when we say “OK”, she throws the ball off her head and catches it. SUCH FUN!

Product Review: KONG Squeezz Ball with Handle Dog Toy
Rescue Dog, Blue Belle, is happy to feature her video review of the toy we received from Chewy.com. We are playing inside today because the fires in Washington, Oregon, California, and Idaho are bringing smoke into our beautiful sky. Not too much fun playing outside in the bad air.
Blue Belle loved playing with the Kong Squeezz Rope toy. The toy has a soft handle, which is perfect for dog lovers to play with their pooch. There is a soft squeeker ball on one end and a durable rope ties it all together. The Kong Squeezz Rope toy works well as a toss toy, tug toy, and a toy for retrieving. The toy comes in a variety of colors. We received a blue toy, our favorite color.
3 year old Shaelee shares a video review of the dog dental treats Greenies. Blue Belle waits while we talk with Shaelee about the dog treats, Greenies. Shaelee is wearing gloves because she is allergic to dogs.
1 year old best buds
Blue Belle is the same age as Shaelee and we love the fact that Blue Belle is so gentle with her. We were not too thrilled when we realized that Shaelee is allergic to dogs, but we figured out how she can still enjoy being with Grandma and Grandpa and our dog Blue Belle.
When we adopted Blue Belle we tested her people skills. She was so very gentle when we played with her and when we gave her a treat. We wanted to make sure that our new forever dog would be a good fit for our family, including our one year old granddaughter.
Here is Shaelee and Blue Belle’s Review – Greenies
We were really excited to have the opportunity to review greenies, they have been a favorite of our family for years. It doesn’t take long for Blue Belle to gobble up a greenie, but I do think they are in her mouth and teeth long enough to freshen her breath.
We received a 12 pack of grain free Greenies from Chewy.com. They arrived packaged in a box, the mail man brought them to our door. Greenies say they are the total oral health solution.
Fights tarter buildup & plaque
Freshens breath
Maintains healthier teeth and gums
Naturally helps clean teeth
Blue Belle does likes the taste, and we are glad that they are low in calories and fat. An interesting fact that I wasn’t aware of – they have added vitamins and minerals. Key to us, they are Made in the USA!
Shaelee, Blue Belle, Murry and Julie all recommend Greenies Dental Treats.
Most dogs adore summer and see it is a fantastic opportunity to explore and run around in new places. There are several steps you can take to ensure your dog has a glorious healthy summer without becoming ill or having an accident. Some of the most important tips include keeping your dog hydrated at all times and preventing them becoming sunburnt. You may also wish to keep them away from toxic plants, lungworm and artificial grass. Let’s explore some of the best ways to get your pet ready for summer.
Thwarting sunburn
Sunburn can be just as harmful to pets as it is to humans. Too much sun can lead to skin cancer, and certain dogs are at significant risk of sunburn. These include white-furred, hairless, light-coloured and short-haired dogs. If your dog does become sunburn, you can apply natural treatments like aloe vera to the red or raw area. Make sure your dog has breaks from the hot sun and benefits from an adequate amount of shade. It’s essential that you don’t leave your dog out in the hot sun for too long.
Investing in artificial grass
Soil and natural grass tend to play host to a number of hazards including snails and slugs. Your dog can become affected by lungworm if he or she swallows a slug or snail so it’s a good idea to remove them from your garden as soon as you spot them. Some dog owners are now investing in installing artificial grass in order to avoid the lungworm problem. By using fake grass you can massively reduce the number of slugs and snails in the your garden in the first place. There are plenty of synthetic grass companies like Forever Green Lawns who supply and install artificial grass which is pet friendly.
Learn about toxic plants
It’s wise to know which plants do and don’t pose a threat to your dog. Obtaining a list of toxic plants will help you work out which plants you shouldn’t be keeping in your garden if you have a dog. If you don’t want to get rid of your plants you could consider making the area in question inaccessible to your dog. Some plants can be more hazardous than you might expect – apple seeds pose a significant risk.
Give them the water they need
Hydration is just as important for dogs as it is for humans. Dogs can become dehydrated frighteningly quickly, so always ensure there’s a good supply of water at home and when you’re out and about. Grooming is also important. Long hair can cause accidents and make your dog uncomfortable, so it’s wise to give them a trim as the temperatures rise. Claws can also become snagged and cause accidents. Regular brushing should help your dog remain comfortable. A dog tag with your contact details on will help if you become separated from your dog.
Do you need a dog kit?
It’s a good idea to invest in a pet kit for when you and your dog are on your travels. Kits tend to include everything you might need to keep your dog happy when you’re away from home, including food, bowls, treats and toys. Chilled gel packs placed under the collar will also keep your dog comfortable whether they’re playing in your garden or out walking. You can even invest in special jackets to keep dogs cool. Some dog owners have even purchased special boots for protection from hot sand, glass and many other hazards.
Planning exercise
Sudden bursts of activity can lead to pain, so if you do like to take your dog out for a long runabout at the weekend, make sure they also get ample exercise during the week. By taking note of a few simple instructions, you can give your dog the summer he or she deserves, prevent them from getting ill, becoming lost or being hurt in an accident.
Blue Belle, the Canine Dog Blogger reviews the Odin, a geometric puzzle dog toy.
Information about the Odin:
The Odin is a dog toy designed to look great in your home, while being a full featured puzzle toy. You place dog treats into the toy and then your dog tries to get the treats out by playing with the toy. It gives dogs the mental and physical stimulation they need and stays interesting to any dog who loves food. The Odin was a kickstarter campaign reviewed by our dog blog.
Discount for our Readers: Our readers can take 10% discount before 8/30/15 with the code DOGBLOG10.
Key features:
Modern, geometric design looks great in any home and stands out from other dog toys.
Geometric shape also makes the toy more fun and enjoyable because it prevents the toy from rolling around excessively and causes the toy to bounce unpredictably when thrown.
Male and female interlocking pieces allow The Odin to be chained together to offer more challenge and versatility. We plan to create new toys to attach to it as well.
Tough and large enough to not be swallowed by big dogs but light enough that small dogs can roll it around.
Dishwasher safe, non-toxic and phthalate free.
Four differently sized holes to allow treats of varying sizes to fall out. Smaller treats come out easier, while larger treats increase the challenge for skilled dogs.
Flaps to allow treats to be easily placed inside without falling out. Flaps also are a way for dogs to try to lick the treats instead of rolling or tossing the toy to get treats out.
We received two of the toys. Blue Belle was so excited to see that the treats we placed inside the toys can easily drop out as she rolls the Odin around with her paw and nose. We do recommend this toy. We will let Blue Belle tell the rest of the story.
